Description
Phoebe was previously sold as a brood mare, but instead was used as a trail riding horse following a short-lived, racing career which ended in 2013. She had not had much education prior to January 2018 but has since been to Adult riders rally’s and to an ARCA challenge among other things.
She has been taken to Darling Downs, Oakford, on numerous trail rides and to the beach. She is great out in the bush, however, can get a little excited in big groups. She has been ridden across busy roads and is not fazed by traffic. She has been taken to lessons with Bayley Thomas, Phillipa Willis and Wendy Barker at Wallangara ARC. There have been comments from the instructors on what a lovely horse she is.
She has shown herself to be a brave mare. At the ARCA Challenge she was a little nervous going through the water for the first time, but the second time round the course she just cantered on through it without a thought.
Phoebe is not afraid to jump and has jumped up to 80 cm despite the fact that she had not done any jumping or dressage prior to January of this year. She learns fast and is always eager to please. She improves at every ride and will give her all to the right rider who will treat her gently but firmly
Phoebe has a very soft mouth and is responsive and easy to stop. This mare has no dirt in her – she has never bucked, reared, kicked or bitten.
Although quiet in most situations, Phoebe will require someone experienced enough to recognise and calm her if she becomes stressed in new situations.
Phoebe has good conformation and is an easy keeper. She is developing some good muscle tone.
Great to float, shoe, worm, wash and rug, and well socialised to donkeys, roos, and dogs.
Phoebe is up to date with teeth (Equident May 2018), feet, worming, Strangles and Tetanus vaccinations.
Phoebe is for sale through no fault of her own and she will go to the best of homes only.
