Astro needs a confident competant rider to keep him focused. He will not be sold/leased to a home for a beginner rider as he is NOT suitable for beginner or neverous riders.

Astro is an approximately 14.3hh Galloway gelding.

Lovely nature very friendy, easy to handle.

Has done Adult riding, unofficial hacking, showman. Would make a lovely pony club, adult riders mount, dressage mount, interschools. He prefers dressage and the enclosed area of the arena, so not suited to someone looking for an eventer, he is also not keen on crossing water and hates the beach. Has been jumped up to 80cm at home and in lessons.

Astro is not suited to a nervous rider, beginner rider, someone with back issues or someone just wanting a trail pleasure hack.

Astro is spooky and he will test out a new rider by spooking. He is easy to prevent to spook you just have to keep his focus and attention on you (the rider) by asking him to work and keeping the work interesting. Once you have ridden him through this he is fine and will enjoy a trail ride or arena ride spook free.

Astro has three expressive paces, has a natural tallent for collection, but still gets a little unbalanced when asking for lengthen, this improves with fitness and balance. He likes to work and to be mentally stimulated. Doesn’t need a competition home but a home where  someone is interested in riding/schooling/training at novice and above and rides at least three times a week.

Astro has always been kept in a herd environment and paddocks well with most horses. While he has been paddocked alone he does need to see other horses or he does get stressed.
