Description
Rufus is a big solid boy with a gentle soul, he is very affectionate and thrives off lots of praise. I took him on about a year and half ago with the sole purpose to work him up and sell him on and if I didn’t already have two other horses in full time work and competing I would keep him for sure! With his floating trot and rocking horse canter he is a lovely ride. His lateral work is also coming along nicely and he has started on his walk to canter transitions, counter canter and jumping. He loves to jump and although he is still learning and his technique is not the best he is honest, bold and calm around a course. He has been competing prelim placing every time with at least one win every outing, scoring in the high 60s. He has also competed two small jumping rounds which he would have won if his rider didn’t forget the jump off course haha. He is great to ride out in the bush, good to trim, float and clip and as we live on a farm he is use to dogs, tractors, quad bikes, cows and sheep, he has also done some police horse desensitizing which he really seemed to enjoy. Rufus is a pretty straightforward guy and you don’t need to be an amazing rider to get him going around nicely. Rufus has such huge potential in the dressage arena, but would also make a great no fuss all rounder for adult riders or pony club. He is currently clipped, in work and competing when I’m not taking the others out.
