Fionn is looking for his new partner to go in everything together. He is very good out on rides alone or in company, great with traffic, bridges, flags and tarps. He is very lazy but can manage 65cm rounds and has no problem with all kinds of jump fill. He likes cross country but takes his time about it.
Many of Fionn’s relatives are great eventers and his mum was a great dressage star but I’ve not been able to get him forward enough to really do more than some training days. I think he’d be great fun doing 45cm adult xc classes. Maybe a rider with longer legs than mine might get him more forward and go further.
I’ve raised Fionn from 18months old with lots of good handling, groundwork, de-sensing, care and love. He is very affectionate and intelligent. He self loads, good for farrier, stood tied for his one clip and easy to worm. Is up to date with feet, teeth and vacc. He will let you open gates and carry weird things and is fine with dogs and quad bikes. He doesn’t like kangaroos much but trusts his rider. Although he is quiet, he is a big young horse and will need an experienced owner who knows how to keep him well behaved like he is now.
He is for sale as I work 60hr weeks and don’t have time for my horses and he is at the perfect age to be going to lots of club days and having fun. He did go to Serpentine SJ twice and won some ribbons (slowly) and also lots of Gidge ARC. Fionn has a scar on his off hind from a fence accident last year but is only cosmetic. He has 10+inch bone and is seriously built like a tank. Lives off the smell of an oily rag and has great feet which would be fine barefoot anywhere but my place which is solid sharp red rock.
This boy will only go to an amazing home and I will need references from people I know and trust. I will consider a lease on my property for the right rider.
