Description
Bailey is a gorgeous golden buckskin mare. We bred Bailey before selling her as a 2yo, and bought her back 18 months ago. It’s now time for Bailey to find her forever home. She will be perfect for a confident teen or adult.
She is broken in and going very kindly under saddle but still relatively green. Bailey has an amazing walk and a good trot, but her canter still needs work. She is quiet, but forward and sensitive, so is not suited to an inexperienced or nervous rider. She gains her confidence from you under saddle - as long as you are a confident rider she is fine, but can get nervous if you are. In saying this, she is easy to ride both in the arena and on the trails. She has no buck or bolt. She can be looky and can shy (stop and look only, not spin or bolt) and therefore she needs a confident rider – if you just give her a kick and tell her it’s ok she will immediately keep going. Bailey’s education has mostly focussed on flatwork but I have popped her over some small jumps and she seemed to enjoy it and show some technique (even with a rider who can’t jump and in a dressage saddle!). She will make a great little show or low level dressage horse, or could easily be pointed more towards the pony club disciplines.
On the ground, Bailey is a breeze to handle. Bailey is professionally show halter trained. She stands quietly to be saddled, easy to bridle, and lunges well. Catches you in the paddock and will sell her soul for a carrot! She is good to wash and show prep, has been fully clipped including inside ears etc with no sedation/twitch needed. She is good to groom and stands perfectly for the farrier. She is also easy to float and travels well, alone or with other horses.
Bailey is registered with AHSA as Arabian Stock Horse, with the West Australian Buckskin Association, and with Dilutes Australia as both Buckskin and Ancillary. She is eligible first cross stock horse with ASH and I have the required paperwork for this, I have just never done it myself.
Bailey is up to date on feet, teeth and vaccinations. She has been shown a few times both in halter and under saddle and has always come home with great results.
These results include:
2017 State Champion Senior Arabian Stock Horse (Arabian State Champs)
2017 State Champion Ridden Arabian Stock Horse (Arabian State Champs)
2017 Champion walk/trot ridden (Dilutes Oktoberfest)
2018 Supreme Arabian Stock Horse (All Arabian Show)
2018 Supreme Ancilliary (Glitz and Glamour All Colour Show)
2018 Top 5 of Show (Glitz and Glamour All Colour Show)
As well as numerous other champions and reserves in halter.
Bailey is still young and inexperienced. I cannot stress enough that she is not for a nervous owner or rider. She is not a difficult horse, but she is a very sensitive one. With the right person she will flourish. I will be very picky with her home so please don’t be offended if I don’t think you are the right fit.
